Following the inclusion of Bitcoin and TON last year, users of the instant messaging software Telegram can now also send Tether (USDT) to each other in chat rooms.
According to the announcement on March 22, USDT has now been included in Telegram’s wallet robot @wallet, users can purchase, exchange and P2P trade USDT in the chat room, and the whole process is as simple as sending text messages and photos. The announcement states:
You can also send USDT directly to your friends without paying transaction fees.
USDT is the third largest cryptocurrency after Bitcoin and Ethereum, with a market cap of $78 billion. However, Telegram’s wallet function currently only supports USDT (TRC20) issued on Tron.
